Disease in the developing countries of the world is a serious issue. According to this article, there are millions of people that die from AIDS and Malaria every year. Because of how advanced modern medicine tends to be in developed nations, most of these fatalities come from developing nations. With such a large number of people in these nations struggling to survive or attempting to avoid to remain uninfected, there is little time for these countries and individuals to focus on developing and improving their quality of life. They focus primarily on their own individual survival, however with the mortality rate of these diseases in the developing world, their chances of contracting the disease are still very high, and death is nearly assured if they contract these diseases.

Tyler your blog was very insightful. It's unfortunate to see how many people are effected by HIV/AIDS around the world. The map was shocking! However it was nice to see that you made an effort to list possible solutions.
ReplyDeleteIt's shocking how many countries have to deal with these illnesses, especially malaria because it can be prevented and cured usually. Our advances in modern medicine in the United States definitely shades us from how many people are affected by disease around the world.
ReplyDeleteI think that this is a fascinating and scary look at the incredible tolls that these diseases/infections can have on humanity. Not only is it a threat to individual security, it is a threat to the states security as well. When thousands and millions of people are dying in a single country as a result of these, I think it creates a nation-wide problem as well.
